Ashland Community Hospital Surgery Addition and
Expansion

Mechanical
and electrical design for 39,000 square foot addition/remodel
including the addition of four new surgery suites, patient bed
areas and second floor office support spaces.
Design included a custom VAV air handling system sized
to accommodate 2nd floor expansion, set-up of central chiller
plant in separate chiller/generator building, added full DDC
controls, full plumbing and new medical gas distribution
system to new patient rooms, replaced existing hot water
converter and brought new hot water heating lines and chilled
water lines to new building.
Design included lighting and
energy-saving occupancy sensors and central lighting controls,
medical multi-branch power systems, full manual and automatic
fire alarm system, paging system, nurse call system, and
television system. Designed central electrical plant with
3000A 480V service, and emergency backup system with
paralleled gen-sets and multiple transfer switches.
